Happy New Year!

I will start by saying that dreams are for real, and if I had more guts I would probably have this tattooed some place hidden. But I have less guts therefore I am just writing this here.

Pictures below have  a little story to tell. One night in early September I had a dream about horses – I was dreaming that I heard the hooves click clack all over, near and around me. I remember thinking in my dream how cool but strange that was. Well, the next morning we all learned that we have a new neighbour down the Highway whose newly acquired two horses broke free and wondered in our little subdivision at night. Kids ran out – apples in their pockets –  to help looking for them. All ended well, and the duo was returned back to the barn.

Anyways, what I am trying to say is that dreams are for real, and if so, why not dream big!? This coming year is a horse year. Enjoy the pictures – I could not take my eyes off these pretty snow-dappled freedom loving gigantic beasts!

Happy New Year!!

Vimy Officer’s Mess wedding of Cara & Michel | Maria Offin Photography Kingston Ontario

Way back in sunny August I photographed a wedding of Cara and Michel – one of the warmest couples I have met. They made me feel so incredibly welcomed and relaxed throughout the day, which is something that I know better than be taking for granted.

It was quite the celebration with singing, laughing and dancing the night away! The ceremony took place in Vimy Officer’s Mess in Kingston Ontario which I personally take as a huge bonus because this venue is about 5 minutes lazy driving from me.

Cara and Michel, thank you for trusting me with your memories!

Late Fall Family photos | Maria Offin : Kingston Ontario family photographer

Happy Wednesday! Over the next couple of  months I intend to slowly populate my new blog with the images from my favourite  last year’s shoots. I hope you don’t mind. But if you do get tired of it – go on – book a shoot for yourself, then you can be here too!

I had the pleasure of photographing this beautiful family on two different occasions before: the newborn shoot for then not-so-curly sweet Emilia and a family picnic later that summer. I always think of Emilia when I talk about my newborn sessions telling my Moms and Dads that the shoot can be anywhere between under one hour and over three. Emilia’s shoot was the shortest in my practice – about 45 minutes. She was an extremely calm baby at the time. Nothing is a given and this time this adorable tornado of a two-year-old got quite even with me.. And yes, my reflector did get used as a bouncer 🙂

I cannot wait to meet her little sister or brother later in the winter!
